Stability analysis of DC microgrids with constant power load under distributed control methods
Constant power loads (CPLs) often cause instability due to its negative impedance characteristics. In this study, the stability of a DC microgrid with CPLs under a distributed control that aims at current sharing and voltage recovery is analyzed. The effect of the negative impedance on the behavior of distributed controller are investigated. The small-signal model is established to predict the ...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Novel Bidirectional DC/DC Converter Topology with High Voltage Conversion Ratio for Electric Vehicles and DC-Microgrids
Abstract: The main objective of this paper was to study a bidirectional direct current to direct current converter (BDC) topology with a high voltage conversion ratio for electric vehicle (EV) batteries connected to a dc-microgrid system. In this study, an unregulated level converter (ULC) cascaded with a two-phase interleaved buck-boost charge-pump converter (IBCPC) is introduced to achieve a ...
متن کاملKron reduction methods for plug-and-play control of ac islanded microgrids with arbitrary topology
In this paper, we provide an extension of the scalable algorithm proposed in [1] for the design of Plug-and-Play (PnP) controllers for AC Islanded microGrids (ImGs). The method in [1] assumes Distributed Generation Units (DGUs) are arranged in a load-connected topology, i.e. loads can appear only at the output terminals of inverters. For handling totally general interconnections of DGUs and loa...
متن کاملOn invariant sets topology
In this paper, we introduce and study a new topology related to a self mapping on a nonempty set.Let X be a nonempty set and let f be a self mapping on X. Then the set of all invariant subsets ofX related to f, i.e. f := fA X : f(A) Ag P(X) is a topology on X. Among other things,we nd the smallest open sets contains a point x 2 X. Moreover, we find the relations between fand To f . For insta...
متن کاملStability of DC Networks with Generic Load Models
DC grids are prone to small-signal instabilities due to the presence of tightly controlled loads trying to keep the power consumption constant over range of terminal voltage variations. Th, so-called, constant power load (CPL) represents a classical example of this destabilizing behavior acting as an incremental negative resistance. Real-life DC loads represented by controlled power converters ...
